This website was inspired by my move to Barcelona from England in July 2005. Most of the information contained within this site is applicable if you’re moving to Spain (not just Barcelona), and to anyone moving from other EU member states.

My move to Barcelona

I planned my move to Barcelona for one year – and I had a business to move too! I kept a note of all the problems and solutions that I encountered on the way, such as, the best way to move to Spain; how to rent accommodation in Barcelona; how a move to another country would affect my tax status – in the UK and here in Spain.

Any knowledge that I’ve gained on what you should do, and what you definitely should not do, is written here. There are also links to other websites that I’ve personally found to be very helpful in my own search for information.

First of all, let me say that I’m very happy that I did move to Barcelona. After planning for so long, I haven’t been disappointed. It’s a wonderful, friendly city, full of life and culture. It's now much more than one year since I arrived in Barcelona and I'm enjoying living here more and more.
