It's been quite some time since my last MovingToBarcelona.com newsletter but I've been inspired to write because of a new internet service for Barcelona and a discount card that I think are worth telling you about. So please, read on...

Connect Club Card - A discount card for Barcelona
This is a great card for people visiting Barcelona because is gives you discounts on all the usuals, such as clubs, restaurants, museums etc, but what I've recently discovered is by purchasing the Connect Club Card at only €12 you can get 23% off gym membership at DIR, amongst other things.
The card is valid for 12 months (January to December) and I think it's well worth the cost. If you want to read more about the benefits such as 30% off prescription glasses you can read more here, and sign up for the Barcelona discount card too:

Gracia Fiesta
It's soon approaching the time of La Fiesta Mayor de Gracia, which also usually means torrential rain for at least two days - but I think it's the best of the Barcelona fiestas. It's on from 15th - 21st August and several Gracia streets will be decorated and competing for the best prize. There will be bands, food, dancing devils, drummers, fireworks and human castles (castellers). Definitely not to be missed.

Flats and Apartments for Rent
The MovingToBarcelona website is fast becoming a place where owners and agents advertise their flats for rent in Barcelona. There are currently 15 properties ranging from one bedroom flats in the old town to large apartments in Pedralbes, so whatever your budget, if you're looking for new accommodation you may find something suitable. And, if you're an owner or agent it's free to advertise.

Broadband Internet - in 24 hours
This one is probably for business owners, but there is now a new internet service from Lexatel Broadband, and the best news is that the connection is guaranteed within 24 hours - even in August!
The service is broadcast in microwaves from the Collserola tower, so you must be able to see the tower from your flat or office in order to qualify, however, Lexatel Broadband are currently negotiating booster towers around the city to cover a wider area, so if in doubt, give them a call to find out if you're within coverage.
